Fantastic for watching the night garden visitors
Woah, that's a clever gadget. My photo crazy son tested it. To set up, insert 6 AA batteries (not included). Then switch on and focus with the focus disc around the lens, keep rotating, it goes much further than it first seems possible. Then use the IR adjustment buttons to get the best view in the dark. The night view is of course black and white and awesome and a little bit spooky. For day view, keep the lens cover on as it is a filter. Day mode lets you see in color (you may have to press the IR button for it to change). You can record movies in AVI format and still images in Jpg. There is a close-up incremental button that can double the magnification. It comes with a USB cable so you can transfer your pictures and videos to a computer. The range is about 200 yards. We've tried it down in the garden with stills (see the two outside photos) at about 80ft and it's pretty good, but it's really for nighttime use where it's a lot better. Son is very happy with it since he's been trying to take fox pictures for ages and it's quite difficult since they like the evenings for their adventures when his camera can't really capture much due to bad light. This will be a very popular device for his fox spotting from now on. We watched the videos on the manufacturer's website, which explained some things we missed in the instruction manual. The 6 AAs can be used for up to 3 hours, which is easily enough time to watch foxes. You can use alkaline or lithiums. I imagine the lithiums will be the longest lasting of the two types. There is a 32GB SD card to store your pictures and videos on. IT has a tripod mounting screw on the bottom. Comes with a sturdy carrying bag and a neck strap. It does not come with a torch. It's a beautiful machine. There are other versions from the same manufacturer and some have a longer range but this is fine for spotting standard UK wildlife.

Good for night use
The night vision is very good. This is really different from the telescope. This is the magic device for looking at things in the dark. It is very powerful and can see two or three hundred meters. It can also record videos and see through the glass. The image resolution is 1920*1080. It can be used during the day and at night. The display is in color during the day and the infrared black and white image is displayed at night. Very good at night, I accidentally see animals in the forest, rabbits within 30 meters can see, I believe it will be very helpful for people who patrol at night or observe nocturnal creatures

Good for rest
I liked these as a recreational or hunting item. However, they would not be sufficient for security or investigative purposes, for example. The NV quality deteriorated the more you zoom. Also, using AA batteries to power it falls short of what I would call practicality. It would be wiser to develop some kind of rechargeable quality battery. Overall, as I said, the features are of good quality for general use. Not exactly recommended for professional use.

works perfectly
moved this review because I wanted to make a video showing how well it works. Well, I keep hesitating, so I figured I'd better at least go ahead and give my 2 cents here. I don't really need them. I don't hunt and really have no reason to own a set. I fish at night so it might be fun to take them out and play with them. I can definitely see myself taking them out when I'm on a boat at night. Anyway, I've tried them a few times now and they work very well. I was surprised at how well they actually worked. I am a former soldier and we have used some of the best night vision goggles and while they certainly aren't as good as this one I assure you they are a very capable product. My sons had never seen night vision and of course their minds were blown away. You must have played with them for hours (they ran out of batteries). This device has some great features like capturing and taking photos. They're not military-grade durable, that's for sure. They feel kind of fragile. They're lightweight, but the material is cheaper than your premium devices. I'm not sure how well they would survive a drop or two. You can use them over your glasses so that's a plus but I didn't really need to. I wear contact lenses but I put on my glasses to see and although they fit well over her I was surprised to see that I could see without glasses or contacts. I'm blind as a bat, but I reckon the screen is close enough to my face that prescription glasses weren't really a factor in using it. The biggest downside I can see with these are the batteries. It uses a lot and you have to replace them. It would be nice if it was rechargeable but you can use rechargeable batteries so not a big problem. It would just be nice to be able to plug it in and not have to worry about changing batteries.

Great after I solved the focus problem.
received these and tried them out briefly during the day where they seemed to focus just fine. I waited until it got dark and found that they couldn't focus and only had a little over half a turn stop to stop on the focus wheel. I was about to pack them up for return but examined them first and could clearly see there was room on the focus wheel for more travel. I just applied some firm force to the wheel and it freed itself to continue turning 2.5 full revolutions. It seems that for daytime viewing with the cap on (with the small aperture) the focus range is smaller and there is a dimple on the focus wheel. Night viewing requires focus beyond this indentation. It seems that my indentation was quite stiff at first and took more effort than expected at first. After repeatedly traversing that indent point, it now moves smoothly and still provides a stopping point. This could be avoided with quality checks making sure this path is clear and also a better explanation in the manual under the focus wheel description. After that's done, I'm really impressed. They work pretty well. One concern I had that no one seemed to ask or report was IR light visibility. The IR light it emits is invisible when you look into the illuminated view. However, if you look directly into the light, it glows softly red, but it's not relevant at all. There are 7 levels of IR illumination power. At level 1 you have to hold it in your hand to see it. At level 7, it's still just a soft, non-obvious red glow that's not easily discernible beyond 10 yards. I walked out about 70 yards and then walked back (in the dark) had only an idea of where the light was and looked hard for it and didn't find it until 20 yards. I backed up until I couldn't see it at about 30 yards. This was outside at my archery range, so these distances are accurate. IR performance at level 1 is good for clearly seeing objects up to 30-40 yards. If you use higher power, objects will be overexposed and objects will be washed out. Level 7 seemed like too much at 70 yards. I have to go to another field to test it at 200 yards. So if you are using the correct IR illuminance level I would say the red glow is by no means a problem. Use a low power setting for animals that are close by and they will not see you, and long range animals will not see the high power IR setting either. The viewfinder has a rubber protection that adapts to your face. If you wear glasses, this rubber shield kind of sucks, but it's removable. However, if you remove it, the screen's backlight (even on a dim display) will be reflected on your face, which you can see (it really scared my horses). Since I generally wear contacts, this isn't a problem for me, but maybe for others. I just went out and got some good pics of my horses at about 50 yards on IR level 1 and am very impressed but when I try to upload these pics to my computer the drive is not recognized. However, this may be my PC fault as this is an old one in my workshop. I'll fix that later as I've already spent way too much time on this review. So yeah, once I figure out the focus issue I'm pretty happy with it. Edit; Added photo of horse at about 50 yards on a dark moonless night. But he is a light gray horse. I walk up the street to find a black horse in the dark and see how this works. Even a newer PC does not show the SD card as a drive when connected directly to the NV device. The SD card can still be read by removing it and reading it directly.
Great after I solved the focus problem.

Great quality, takes some getting used to, the zoom is digital so not great
very bizarre feeling at first but once you get used to them they are of excellent quality despite the zoom being digital. So don't expect anything like good binoculars. You'll need a lot of batteries, so be prepared! The screen is very bright, so if you wear glasses and try to go "undercover" it will light up like a Christmas tree and you'll end up with a crazy ghost face, just like looking at a cell phone in the dark. Also works through glass if you turn off the infrared radiation, which is a nice touch when you're in the car looking at 'wildlife' or even the local dog parks. Overall decent quality but for the price it should be - night vision is great, zoom is average but as a first introduction to night vision they're pretty good.

love it
Bought for me as a treat. I've never had night vision goggles, but I had money left over and the price was reduced. Good enough for home use. Not good for war purposes as infrared night vision can be seen by other night vision devices. So not good if you are considering buying for Ukraine, the company's website says. It's good enough for what I wanted it for

very good value for money.
I've thought about adding a video or two but to be honest that's pretty much covered... I've tried a few night vision monoculars in the past and have to say the quality on these is far better than that "Ambient light" with no IR is a lot better too, in fact it's probably better than some I've seen in the past with full IR on. While I understand when people have said that a built-in battery would be a welcome addition, I think the removable battery is a better option (built-in chargers have a habit of 'dying' quickly if not charged/discharged regularly ), now the only downside and for most it won't be 'biggy' and not a big problem for me but it's there, it's for eyeglass wearers who prefer glasses like me... I have an eye test and new glasses, so I'll choose my frames carefully, everything still works and it's easy to find a 'sweet spot' although when I'm out for hunting the glare from the screen illuminates part of your face like Blackpool animal lights. I read a review where the owner turned the screen brightness to the lowest setting, I might try that soon. I wouldn't let that put me off, it's a minor thing that we as glasses wearers can certainly overcome and it's not a fault with the item, for the price these offer a very good image which I think is superior to others I've seen although obviously not as good as much more expensive gear and for 'backyard watching' or for a camping trip etc. They will certainly do the job.

Good product
For the price, it's an incredible piece of kit. I bought 2 different night vision goggles but they were made in China and were rubbish so I sent them back to myself at great expense. So don't be fooled by the low prices of these Chinese made products, it's like a godsend what you get I bought a piece and a half that was missing, it was obviously thrown back before they tried to parm it for me

Pretty effective
decent product but not binoculars. This is truly a night vision camera - one lens is the infrared light (adjustable for 7 levels) and the other is the camera. A digital display provides adequate detail, which can zoom to 3x magnification. I'm not sure why it claims a range of 180 meters - I could make out details well beyond that. The focus ring on the camera lens is a bit fiddly. If you're wearing gloves, you'll likely need to take them off to adjust the focus. Battery life is affected by the strength of the IR light - turn it up to maximum and the batteries will drain much faster, so I use rechargeable batteries. A nice device, useful for spotting wildlife at night.
