High quality filter from a trusted brand. Subtle smoothing of skin tones and slight highlight bloom.
When you're looking for just a touch of softness and just a subtle glow in the highlights, this K&F 1/8 black diffusion filter works perfectly, especially when photographing women. It gives a subtle smoothing to skin tones without blurring any of the details, and a slight lowering of contrast where the shadows become slightly lighter.
If you're looking for that super smooth skin tone look (where you can't make out the skin's pores), and you want that dreamy glow/bloom in the highlights, you should choose the stronger back diffusion versions of this filter.
I have found the K&F brand to be a step above all of the medium to low-priced filters on the market today. I have several different K&F filters and have been happy with all of them. I especially like the knurling they incorporate into the ring and if you compare their packaging to other brands, you will see it's superior. The plastic boxes their filters come in are much higher quality and are easier to open and close than the cheaper brands.
