Bought this in combination to be used with my Sirui 50mm Anamorphic lens. It works well and I don't too much chromatic aberrations. The color rendition is nice and it definitely allows me to keep my aperture wide open at 1.8 during bright conditions. The Sirui 50mm Anamorphic lens is quite sharp wide open, and using the variable ND with this lens creates magic.
I definitely recommend this lens for ANYONE that needs a quality ND filter for their lenses. I wish it came with a lens cap - or at least a universal one. The original lens cap, doesn't quite fit in this filter.

Very easy to use, looks very good material. I love the result. Playing with the white balance you can get much better result. I have tested with ISO 100 f / 1.8 and 1/125 sec. when the sun does not let see anything in the camera, and this has allowed me to put it totally dark and also in a desired tone.
Super useful, excellent product Super useful, excellent product Super useful, excellent product Super useful, excellent product

Long exposure. At first I hardly used it, now I'm a huge fan. I shopped around and found the perfect tripod (carbon-fiber Manfrotto, also great). When that arrived, I mentioned to my friend I was planning on getting waterfalls with a slow shutter speed, and he said, "You gotta ND filter, right?" I knew I had a trip up to Letchworth coming up that weekend. That evening I rushed onto Amazon, shopped around, and found this product. Perfect size for my Zeiss 50mm and 35mm!

I didn't really get the chance to mess with this ND filter until I arrived at Letchworth and wow was I blown away! The crisp rolling ring and the crisp shade of black make this such an incredible product. So worth the price! I'm blown away by how it doesn't degrade the quality of my captures my lenses can get.

I love long exposure now. With my lightweight tripod and my filter, I can only grow.

I included a picture of a covered bridge in Cuyahoga Valley National Park taken with this filter. It was a eight second shutter speed.
This filter is able to get stunning pictures at such a great price.

I had a smaller diameter of this product for a different lens, so when I got my new lens the first thing I bought was this ND filter. It is incredible. And this one had little dots along the edge, as well as text that read "Min" and "Max". This was super helpful. My only complaint about the smaller ones was that you couldn't tell how far was the maximum and minimum, and this model has solved that issue. I don't go anywhere without this filter. I will be buying a K&F Variable ND filter for every lens that I get from now on.

Good build quality, but I would prefer to have smoother and easier turning. It is a little stiff. For the money the build quality is good. Image quality is good, just make sure to use the filter in the intended range shown on the markings. Heavy vignetting begins to appear on the last dot (darkest setting) and beyond that you can see the infamous X-pattern. Going to the lighter end, I see no vignetting at all. I use this between the brightest dot, and second-darkest dot. There is a yellowish colour cast that is present in the entire frame, thankfully no colour splotches that are difficult to fix. There is no colour shift when you move the ring. My biggest inconvenience is just that the filter thread on the front of the filter is slightly larger than my lens' filter thread, which means I can't put my lens cap on the filter. On my fuji XF16-80mm, the lens hood will not fit when the filter is on.Overall it does the job pretty well in most situations (overcast, indoors, golden hour, etc) , except in direct sunlight (at noon) you will have to stop down your aperture to maintain a 1/48th shutter speed. Some inconveniences but many of them can be worked around. You get what you pay for at this price.

Firstly, I have to say that this is, all in all a good, useful filter and totally worth the price. I'm only taking one star off for some aspects of its performance where I thought it would do better, and another for a problem I fixed myself with a little maintenance, but should really not have been there. As far as stopping light - this filter performs as advertised! It does cause a brownish cast over images at nearly all settings, which can really reduce the vibrance of colours - something you can pretty easily restore in post-processing, but it does mean making that extra step. This filter performs very well for me on lenses between 28mm and around 60mm focal length. Where I was a bit disappointed with it was at longer focal lengths - because with those, it not only mutes the colours, but begins to effect image sharpness, and that is a no-no. Worse, I noticed it doing that a bit unevenly across the image.Closer examination showed that the filter has signs of what seemed like water or oil stains on the inside, between the two glass layers. I ended up taking the filter apart and cleaning the inside surfaces myself - the stains, happily, were not permanent and wiped away neatly after a very light cleaning with ROR liquid. Still, this is something that the filter should not have shipped with and could've been easily quality-controlled.I still find that it doesn't quite perform well on longer lenses - but it's handy on my vintage "nifty fifties". It's just that if I knew I wouldn't be too happy with the filter's performance at longer focal lengths - I would've bought it in a smaller thread size than 72mm.So, my recommendation: if you want an affordable variable ND filter for use on lenses between 28 and 60 mm focal length - go for one that fits your filter thread. Your lens(es) in that range are more likely to be somewhere between 49mm and 58mm, maybe 62mm filter thread. No need to buy a larger 72mm filter for those! And for anything larger/longer - I recommend looking into a higher-quality filter. Even K&F concept actually has some much better ones, albeit for about double the price.

This filter definitely works as advertised. I researched exhaustively and checked many reviews before purchasing.
Comes in a nice plastic box with some foam cushioning; I added a layer of thin foam in there to keep it from moving around in my bag.
I'm in Florida - took this outside mid-morning, full noon and afternoon, and on an overcast day. Outstanding results, including with flash. On sunniest days I did not crank it up to the maximum setting, just below, and still got great results for both stills and video.
Shooting on a a Canon 6DMII, got three lenses that'll take this 52mm.
Not a 'pro' but half of my income comes from photography and video.
Would definitely recommend this filter - I feel kind of dumb not having gotten it years ago, could have saved many shots.
I found this after seeing the versatility of a variable ND demonstrated in a video, realized I must be missing something. When I looked up that item I was astounded to see that the low-end for that series prices about $250/$300. If you're making museum or some kind of major publishing landscape images you probably don't think twice about that, and I'm certain those pieces are quality. However, if you're reading this then you've already come across a couple of childish and self-important remarks about how this item doesn't compare to 'pro' or 'real' filters. You're on Amazon here - this thing works, give it a try.
Finally - have seen a string of reviews with tantrum-like rants insisting that this filter doesn't work and puts an 'X' on the image.
I'm guessing that's true ... because in the little page that comes with the filter (and the description online) it's clearly stated that turning the filter up to it's highest setting will create this artifact, so they kind of advise you not to do that.
Also, if you cross the street on a red light, you will likely get run over.
It's working for me!
