40.5mm True Color Variable ND2-32 (1-5 Stops) and CPL Circular Polarizing Lens Filter 2 in 1 for Camera Lens Neutral Density Polarizer Filter Nano-X Series
SKU: KF01.3071
K&F is known for having photography products within everyone's reach, both in its Professional and Amateur ranges. In this case we have a filter with two functions, Polarizer and Neutral Density, the latter variable in 5 positions. It is delivered in a sealed box and inside it is the synthetic leather case that contains the filter inside a plastic bag. The first detail that draws attention is that to remove the filter from the case, it has a strap that when pulled makes the filter come outwards, making it easier to grab, especially if we are wearing gloves due to the cold. The manufacture of this one is made of very high quality aluminum and with a magnificent finish, far superior to others that I have from a German brand well known by all professionals in the field. It has 5 ND filter positions ranging from 1 stop (ND2) to 5 stops (ND32), but you have to look at the filter to know what position you leave it or want it in, they do not have a partial locking system, that is, there is no click that tells you the exact position and that also serves as a lock. I say this because then if you want to adjust the polarizer, it is very likely, or rather you have an 80% chance, that the ND position has moved and this forces you to look again and see if it is at the point you need or want, since otherwise areas with more ND than others will appear, what some call the X effect or something similar. As for image quality, it is very good, the photo you take will not lose quality or sharpness when using this filter, just as you will not notice any color vacation. Perhaps the ND 32 raises the colour temperature by 200-300ºK, but it is so ridiculous that it is imperceptible. As for vignetting, it is three quarters of the same, except for the jolt produced by the optics itself. I have hardly noticed this effect when using the filter, just a little darkening at the edges in the ND32, but I insist as with colour, it is ridiculous, practically imperceptible. As for the polarizer, there are times when it is difficult to get the exact point, the polarization travel is very small compared to others that I have with a smaller diameter, but it is a matter of getting used to it and with the passage of time it stops being a "problem" This type of filter is aimed at all photographers, but especially at people who like to do landscape photography, although with limitations if we compare them with fixed or mount filters (also more expensive) and it can be a very valid alternative because the angular lenses that we use have very open F / Nº and yes or yes, you have to use it if you want to have optimal or specific results, such as the silk effect of water or clouds, while removing reflections and enhancing contrast and color thanks to polarization, if you want to use it, but since it is there, my advice is to use it. I hope this review has been useful to you

This is a real lifesaver for me. For photography, I don't know. But for filming video it has made my life 10x easier. A slight twist and I can adjust the exposure while filming which is great because if I do that in my settings you notice it, but a slight nudge of the thumb on this baby and you can't tell. Especially useful on cloudy days when the sun is popping in and out. Also adds a nice look for filming people. Generally, I hate putting anything over my Sony G lense but this is a total lifesaver for filming.

Very good construction and great kit, you always have to have one of these on hand.

wish I would've bought this sooner vs me buying cheaper ND and CPL filters. In the video I demonstrate how smooth it turns and what it would look like on a lens. Camera A7Rii and Sigma 18-35 f1.8

How awesome that they have combined a VND with a CPL in one filter here. How often will a photographer use both a CPL and VND shooting beach / water scenes on a bright, sunny day? Um, only all the time! I simply can't gush enough about how useful this is to have both in one filter. I got it in 82mm to fit my Canon 24-70 f2.8 II, which has an 82mm filter ring. The threads are cleanly machined, and it works very well on this lens, and with the VND / CPL combo, I can actually shoot at f2.8 sometimes. That's pretty impressive on a bright sunny day. And even get a little motion blur. This filter is worth every penny they're asking. 5 stars.

Complete in its own two-tone faux-leather case with locking magnetic lid, K&F are stepping up their game with their Nano-X line of filters. This circular polarizer combined with a variable density filter (up to five stops) is built to the highest optical and mechanical standards. It's a first class filter with 28 layers of multi-coating to reduce flare and protect the surface. You won't be disappointed.

Great combination of my most used filters. I do a lot of automotive works, and having a good circular polarizer is a must for cutting down on paint glare, and the ND is great for getting the shutter to slow down for panning shots. This filter is well made with clean optics, and it screws on and off nicely. Easy to adjust and has a good range of ND. I take this filter everywhere now, and it's my new favorite!

This review is for the 2-in-1 True Color ND variable and CPL polarizing filter from K&F Concept's X series (Nano-X). The advantage of combining dual functions of ND and CPL is the ability to quickly adjust both amount of light and polarization, usually a challenging situation faced outdoors near lakes, pools, or reflecting glass surfaces like high rise windows. The variable ND has 5 stops (ND 32, 16, 8, 4, 2) and rotates infinitely. K&F promises no "X" cross on images. The construction is AGC optical glass with 28 multi-layer plus titanium coating to reduce glare but produce true color with no yellowing. The 77mm circular filter is lightweight and machined extremely well with an interesting orange tab on each side of the circle for fast adjustments. You grab either tab that is convenient, they both adjust the ND stops. I was able to easily twist this onto the front of a step-up ring that I have on my Sony alpha 5100. It's an older camera but the pictures have always been great when using the right combinations of lens and filter. I can confirm that this truly delivers the easiest experience for quickly getting a high quality image by adjusting for light and polarization in one filter. With the proper assortment of step-up rings, your investment in this filter can pay off by using it on multiple devices you may own. To protect your investment, it comes in a nice faux leather case. This is an outstanding ND + CPL combo for quality images in many outdoor situations and the sliding tab makes adjustment so easy.

The ideal of combining these two commonly used filters into one is genius. I really like all of their filters, but the convenience of this is fantastic. Works great on my 24-70. I don't see any color shift or image degradation. Adjustments operate very smoothly. This one is always in my bag now when I go out to do landscape photography.

Using the filter is a breeze. The variable ND aspect ranges from ND2 to ND32, giving you a wide range of light control options. It's like having multiple ND filters in one. Adjusting the density is as simple as twisting the filter, and the markings are clear and easy to read. The integrated CPL function is just as user-friendly. By rotating the outer ring, you can adjust the polarization effect, which I've found incredibly handy for reducing glare or enhancing the sky in my landscape shots.
