The Perfect All-in-One Filter for Photo & Video
This K&F Concept Variable ND + CPL filter has honestly become one of my favourite accessories for both photography and video work. Having a variable ND filter and circular polarizer combined into one unit is incredibly convenient, especially when shooting outdoors or travelling light.
I mainly use it for video on my 35mm lens, and it allows me to keep a wider aperture like f/2.3 in bright daylight without overexposing footage. It makes following the 180° shutter rule much easier while still maintaining that cinematic shallow depth of field look.
The CPL function works very well too. Reflections on water, glass, cars, and other reflective surfaces are noticeably reduced, and colours like blue skies and green foliage look richer and more natural. It’s a very versatile filter setup for landscape, travel, and street shooting.
Build quality is excellent. The filter is made from solid metal and high-quality glass, and it comes in a sturdy protective storage case. The coatings are clearly visible and seem to do a great job reducing glare and keeping the glass cleaner. Both adjustment rings move smoothly, although you do need to be a little careful not to accidentally rotate both at the same time.
Image quality has exceeded my expectations. I haven’t noticed any colour cast, softness, chromatic aberration, or the dreaded “X” pattern that cheaper variable ND filters sometimes produce. I own a much more expensive standalone CPL filter, and honestly, the difference in image quality is minimal.
One tip I’d recommend: buy larger filters and use step-up rings for smaller lenses. That way you only need one high-quality filter for multiple setups.
Overall, this is an excellent all-in-one filter with fantastic optical quality, practical features, and great value for the price. Highly recommended for creators who shoot both photo and video.
