I conducted an indoor photoshoot using the Nikon Z8, and the battery is now at 61%. During the session, I captured 1,373 shots with the 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens, consuming 39% of the battery.

In summary, while third-party Nikon batteries may seem like a cost-effective option, they come with notable downsides: rapid capacity loss over time, poor performance in cold weather, and the risk of becoming unusable after firmware updates. Original Nikon batteries, although more expensive, provide long-term reliability and compatibility.
That said, I tested a K&F Concept battery, and it works well with various Nikon cameras, including the Z8, Z9, and Zf. I’ll continue testing it in real-world scenarios and update you on its performance.

Solid third party battery that works with my d7100, d800, z7, and z8. I use battery grips on all these cameras and it works great in all these grips. The battery life so far is on par with OEM, we will have to see if they hold up over time. I’ll let you know if there is a problem. It’s a good value although not far off the OEM price in most places. I do like the added direct charge feature, just being able to plug a cable directly in is helpful. It is easy to just use a charger as well. The unit itself feels durable and well put togeather. So far I have used it without issue and I am grateful to have it.

The direct charging feature is convenient. It allows me to charge multiple batteries at the same time.

I've tried several batteries from third-party manufacturers, all of them resulted in a blocking message from my Nikon Zf, not here!
