A great option when just a little softening is needed.
I’ve been very happy using the K&F Concept 82mm Black Diffusion 1/4 filter on my clinically-sharp Sigma Art lenses, so I decided to try this 1/8 version for cases where a bit less diffusion might be best.
In limited testing, my results so far have been mixed. Or maybe that’s the point of this filter. Sometimes there’s very little difference between the 1/8 and 1/4 strengths, and sometimes the same is true for 1/8 versus no filter at all. That, of course, tells me this filter is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.
My challenge is going to be deciding which of the two, if any, to use for a given photo. But photography has been a lifelong learning experience, and I expect that to continue.
This filter from K&F Concept is well-made, with effective multi-coating. The visual effect is very pleasing, and I’m glad I decided to add it to my photo kit. Five stars.
